Destined for an Early Grave Review

Spoilers from books 1-3 up ahead be warned.

Cat’s dreams leave her in grave danger. Literally.

Since Cat Crawfield, a half-vamp, met her hot undead lover, Bones nearly six years ago; they have fought to protect one another against rogue undead and a vengeful Master vamp while claiming their devotion to each other with a blood bond in marriage. She quits her job and now it’s time for some vacation and time alone with her now undead husband, but their sweet vacation is interrupted when Cat wakes up one night from a very terrorizing dream. She kept having these visions of a vamp named Gregor, that was stronger and older than her bones, and has ties to her that even she never knew about.

Gregor believes Cat is his property and won’t stop until he obtains her. The battle begins between the vamp who continues to haunt her dreams and the one who holds her heart together, but only she can break Gregors hold on her. She needs all of her powers to bring down the Master vamp, even if that results in an early grave.

I have deeply enjoyed this series! Cat and Bones have been one of my favorite supernatural couples. Cat is a strong adult who has dedicated much of her life to hunting vampires. With her speed, because she’s a half-breed, and skill she can do it and it pretty much gets her the nickname Reaper among the undead, because of the amount of supernatural beings she's helped taken out. Her character amazes me because she’s so tough and will put herself into grave danger in order to protect the ones she cares about. Bones is the perfect mate. I mean he has the sexy accent, needless to say the explicit bedroom scenes. **blushes** but the way the author describes his actions, it really shows his genuine love for Cat. Ok so this is the fourth book in the Night Huntress series and it follows Cat’s journey as her powers are revealed and coming to terms with her decisions about her future. The author’s vivid details give readers that edge and sense that you simply can not put down the book. You’re really not sure of what’s going to happen. She doesn’t give it away until it needs to happen, which is something I greatly admire and liked about the book. Although this one wasn’t one of my favorites out of all the other books, it still kept me up all night until I finished it. This book has many changes and surprises for many fans and you will be very surprised! They are needless to say, very creative. It’ll leave you hungry for more! First Drop of Crimson, a spin-off to the Night Huntress series, is scheduled to drop in January of 2010. I definitely will be looking forward to that. Overall I give this book 4.5 out of 5 paws.

Comment Question of the Blog: Do you have a favorite supernatural couple? Or just any couple in general that you really like? If so, why?
