Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared--the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in his own blood--but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.

The memories her family has tried to bury resurface when Daniel returns, three years later, and enrolls in Grace and Jude's high school. Despite promising Jude she'll stay away, Grace cannot deny her attraction to Daniel's shocking artistic abilities, his way of getting her to look at the world from new angles, and the strange, hungry glint in his eyes.

The closer Grace gets to Daniel, the more she jeopardizes her life, as her actions stir resentment in Jude and drive him to embrace the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind the boy's dark secret...and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it--her soul.

My Thoughts:

What brought my main attention to this novel was the amazing cover! It was remarkably beautiful! I’ve also heard great things in the bloggerverse! Daniel was the guy that just completely stole my heart from the first page he appeared. Grace had this immediate pull to him that just completely mesmerized me! I always kind of suspected different people about the whole crimes thing but by the end I just completely wanted to scream because it was just that crazy! This novel just didn’t stop surprising me. The one and only thing I didn’t like about this novel was Grace’s reaction to the big revelation from Daniel. I know if it would have been me, I would’ve freaked out. Engrossing, beautifully written and boy worthy this novel is sure to make waiting for book two pure agony! I give this novel 4 out of 5 paws.

  1. This book sounds so good. Kind of Swoon/Twilight/Hush, Hush-esque.

My favorite quality in a guy is honesty or loyalty. Liars will never make you happy, which is kind of related to being unloyal...

    I gave you an award!

  4. I'm sort of on the fence about the Dark Divine. While I liked it, it was a bit too religious for me, and I didn't care a whole lot for Daniel. I did, however, like her relationship with Jude!

  5. I so want to read this book!! I just haven't gotten a copy yet. :(

What's my favorite quality in a guy? Well, we trust each other implicitly; he cares for me, and my happiness, and allows me space to do whatever I need, to achieve my dreams; yet we lean on each other whenever necessary.

I enjoyed your review, Leslie and can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this book!
